Looking forward to seeing you tonighT!

Thanks Post+Grant for this great sneak preview:

POST + GRANT SNEAK PREVIEW

We can’t wait to hunt for treasures,
like the ones below, at this year’s
San Francisco Fall Antiques Show,
October 27 – October 30.

Fit for a King and Queen.
We’re lusting after these Biedermeier burl birch,
curule-form benches, with royal aubergine leather seats.

This pair of French cast stone perched owls
would look fierce in any room.

-Pieces available through Epoca SF-

Curious Bear – 2011 Bronze 25 x 9 x 10 inches Edition of 6.

How apropos. Tom Otterness’ bronze bear sculpture,
from his new body of work entitled ‘Animal Spirits’,
playfully nods to the current state of the market.

Femme au chien sur le petit lit vert – 1929 Pen and India ink on paper 17 x 21 inches.

Suffused with the light and sensuality of the South of France,
this exquisite Matisse drawing displays his fine draughtsmanship.

Eight Lipsticks 1988 Etching and drypoint in colors
on Somerset 14 x 12 inches Edition of 60.

We love the decadence of the 80s and
the attitude of this Thiebaud print.

-Pieces available through John Berggruen Gallery-

Frits Henningsen – Settee, Denmark c 1940
We adore the unexpected touches of this beige settee,
like the elbow rests and nailhead accents.

Eric Hoglund – Group of Candelabra, Sweden, c. 1957
This wrought iron and glass candelabra
drips with edgy sophistication.

Rapahel – Sideboard, France, c 1960
This rosewood chest from the 1960s feels impossibly chic.
The central casing opens by flap onto an illuminating bar.
If only Don Draper came with it…

-Pieces available through Almond Hartzog-

Blue Open – acrylic and charcoal on canvas, 48” x 36” c. 1974

We love the emotive quality of
Robert Motherwell’s large abstract paintings.

Spheroid – copper sculpture – 40” x 20.5” – 1954 -62

A sculpture by Herbert Ferber

-Pieces available through Hackett Mill-

Cable Car Turnaround
1946

San Francisco Post and Powell Street, Union Square
1947
Gelatin silver print

Fairmont in Fog
1947
Gelatin silver print

San Francisco, Flowerstand, I Magnum, Union Square

These black-and-white photographs of our
home town of San Francisco
feel wonderfully noir.
